Revolv

Revolv is an augmented reality mobile app blending graphical sonic data onto the iconic vinyl record turntable. The project was created alongside Oliver Wilshen as part of our ongoing collaboration as Signal to Noise. A cyclical waveform graphic emanates from the stylus of the record player, following its mechanical motion and simultaneously reacting to the real time audio output. Sonic analysis of the frequency and amplitude informs both the colour and movement of this augmented waveform, bringing a dynamic visual representation of the record’s audio content.
